CRETE
The island of Crete, in the southern part of the Aegean Sea, is full of natural beauties to explore and enjoy. Picturesque ports and sandy beaches with transparent waters will help you relax and on the same time discover the continuing fascination and attraction of the island. The temperature of the sea in October is ideal for swimming and Cretan beaches have been awarded the European blue flag for clean waters and care for the environment.

CONGRESS VENUE

PREVIEW CENTRE
The Preview Centre is located in the lower level of the conference center.
Speakers are requested to hand in their presentations not later than 60 minutes before the beginning of their session.
Each presentation must be brought on a CD-Rom, DVD-Rom or USB stick (no ZIP disks). If there are video sequences included please make sure to save the video files on your CD-ROM in addition.
Participants have the opportunity to test their presentations directly in the Preview Centre which we strongly recommend.
Data projection is the “standard” technical equipment (Slide projection is not possible).
Please note that your own laptop cannot be used for presentation in the lecture halls.

INTERNET ACCESS
Several computer workstations with access to the Internet will be provided free of charge for participants.

BANKS
Banks are open from Monday to Friday, from 08:00 till 14:00 hrs. Automatic cash machines can be found in Hersonissos village as well as in the lobby of the CRETA MARIS Hotel

ELECTRICITY
Electrical current in Greece is 220 volts, 50Hz. Greek outlets take only round-prong plugs (2 holes). Appliances designed to operate on 110/200 volts need a voltage converter and a plug adapter. All three-prong plugs and square prong plugs need an adapter.

MEDICAL SERVICE
There is Cretan Medicare, a private medical center (very close to Creta Maris) located at the main road of Hersonissos

TRANSPORTATION
Heraklion International Airport “Nikolas Kazantzakis” is 5km from the city center of Heraklion and approx. 25km from the Hersonissos village.
Car rentals and other requests can be confirmed on site. Taxis are available in front of the terminal building. The cost for a taxi ride from the airport to Hersonissos is approximately 35,00€ and takes 20-30 minutes.
